Somerville Local First (SLF) and Cambridge Local First (CLF), networks of locally owned and independent businesses, nonprofits and artists are pleased to present to you the “Shift Your Shopping” Holiday Campaign. From November 27th to December 31st we encourage you to make the 10% Shift by buying local for the holiday season. Making the Shift to Local Independents is one of the fastest ways to build sustainable communities and create jobs in the local economy.

This campaign comes on the heels of a breakthrough New Orleans Study – Thinking Outside The Box by Civic Economics which shows that local retailers have twice the local economic impact in our communities, while consuming a fraction of the land area. As we emerge from the economic crisis, we hope you'll use this holiday season as a way to stimulate our local economies by Shifting your Shopping.
